Lumut night getaway

On last tuesday i received an IM from melor telling me that she’ll be around lumut on the evening…. thanks to the extra tonne of workload i couldnt join her for dinner…. but just in time made it to lumut waterfront for some late mamak-ing… us, syime with his gf, melor and her friend et moi went around that night enjoying the night scenery although tomorrow is working day… lulz

On last 3-4 weeks, Cik Lamah called me informing that one of my distant relative is getting engaged…. hohoho to my amusement he is of the same age of me…. lulz.. maybe i should think of getting engaged too roflmaomgz… so it happens that aisyah is around town so i ask her to tag along…. picked her up at sri iskandar and we went to the engagement ceremony somewhere in ipoh….

Induction Programme~

Last thursday, i was attending an induction programme held here in lumut. Icould basically summarize it to a “introduction to the new UMW” haha as it was explaining the new logo, why we use it and the values that each employee need to implement.

The reason to change

1. UMW, moving towards globalization are not yet well known on the globe
2. Generally, among Malaysian, UMW is perceived as limited to Toyota car distributor only, while UMW itself have 3 other main business namely Equipment, Manufacturing & Engineering, Oil & Gas other than Automotive
3. Apart from Toyota, UMW actually have shares in Perodua and also LEXUS sales in Malaysia
4. UMW is no longer United Motor Works, standing on its own, they are moving to be known as UMW alone.

Whats in the new logo

1. Alternating colours signifies the will for the employee to change and move forward
2. The 21 dash in the logo actually didnt impose any meaning at all =p
3. U-shape logo signifies UNITY, regardless on whichever division ( Automotive, Equipment, Manufacturing & Engineering, Oil & Gas ) everyone is moving as one

Outstation Trip

Im gonna write bout my first outstation trip with the new company, UMW…. went outstation to Shah Alam for a 2 day course (technical writing ftw!) which was held on the 20th and 21st of April 09.

19th April 2009

packed my things up and did some laundry. Got everything ready by 1000hrs…. when she text me for a breakfast outing somewhere in Sri Iskandar. So i drove as leisurely as i could there… taking my time, holding the urge to rev up my kelisa early in the morning. Arrived at Sri Iskandar around 1100hrs and we went straight to nearest mamak stall. Had a wonderful roti canai…. its kinda weird when u used to have that dish on late night and suddenly having it first thing when u woke up in the morning. hoho~ out of the blue we went to Batu Gajah’s Kellie Castle, was planning to just drive through, but ended up parking my car and we went loitering inside together that day…. i was sweating like crazy thanks to the hot and humid wheather of Perak~ haha

we finished our tour at 1300hrs or so, sent her back to her home and off i resume my journey to shah alam….. as usual i was tricked byPLUS to take the GCE (Guthrie Corridor Expressway) lulz… RM1.40 for every toll gantry == RM5.20 for the whole length of GCE… T_T, not a significant amount (compared to my usual toll from jb to batu gajah amounting up to RM68). Arrived at shah alam around 1600hrs and was amazed on how lucky i am to actually find the hotel, Blue Wave to be precise on the first attempt… wahaha, so i checked-in at 1430hrs and went straight up to my room…. wondering on how luxorious a RM450 rated room could be. First impression… spacious…. the first thing i do was looking for the internet connection, not the usual bouncing on and off the bed, but was immediately shocked on the internet rate they charge there…. RM1.57 for each minute of connection? WTF! hahaha that leads to me limiting my internet connection time of only 5 minutes per day =( 5 minutes costing around RM10? lulz. Find myself bored i hooked up my ipod which secondarily serves as portable HDD to watch the X-Men Origin : Wolverine movie…. halfway through, Bote dropped by the hotel and after Maghrib prayer we went to The Curve to meet Smiletiger. He was there with his new gf which ive never met before…. never would have known Smiletiger was actually a pedophile… lulz… not that he dates an underage girl…. she is around our age actually,born in 1985…. its just that she looks a lot younger that her age does…. lulz… had ayam penyet for the first time and i’m very thankful for the meal Smiletiger…. 

20th April 2009

I woke up as early as 0545hrs just to make sure i didnt wake up late resulting in messy start…. after shower i went down to the lobby for breakfast at their cafe…. had nasi lemak with lots of potatoes plus apple juice…. i also consumed some bakeries. After stuffing myself with the wonderful breakfast, i went back to my room reading the newspaper half-heartedly, just flipping the pages and viewing the pictures…. before getting ready to go to the UMW-COE Shah Alam. Made it there after around 7-8 minutes of driving, i find myself arriving a lil bit early. Multiple of wifi access there but sadly i dont have the passkey =( so i kill the time using the plain, boring game installed in my phone….. when the course start i found myself being in the lowest designation among others…. some of them are in managerial level or senior executives, others goes beyond the regional manager level while im stuck at the trainee engineer post x_X. The training is pretty much similar with what we have at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS but every information for the whole semester is cut short into two days…. i found out my grammar sucks… not that it is good before but kinda ashamed on the current level of mine.

cut short, the course ends around 1700hrs and i drove straight to hotel. I have to prepare a report and presentation for the last day of the course and feels a lil bit gloomy but Megikari dropped by at around 2000hrs, we grab a bite at noodle station. I had a fried swivel mee there while she ordered some western delicacies which i forgot what…. hahaha the verdict? ice coffee sucks but i love the noodles… only that it is served in small portion, barely make it into the huge space of my tummy. After the meal, i went to the nearest 7-E to grab some junk food for me to chew while preparing the presentation and report for the next day at hotel. I found out that I have lots of things to catch up, latest gossip, whats new and something similar with her so she drove me around shah alam. Among other thing she showed me her office and places that she use to hangout. Went back to hotel, i disciplined myself to complete the presentation and went to bed…..

21st April 2009

thought that i have been a lil bit smarter that day i woke up at 0615hrs….. packed all of my things since im checking out that day, i have everything ready at 0700hrs…. went down for breakfast and went for the course back again…. finished at around 1600hrs i drove to seksyen 9 to meet my sister to bring my belongings back to lumut. went back to lumut later that night with Syed Hazman who spent his holiday at Bandung Indonesia, i find myself sleepy thoroughout the journey. Dropped by the mamak stall at Sri Iskandar where i met Terubozu, Escapad, Orangmati, Kekuatan just to name a few…. was a blast considering the coincidence we got to meet there. hoho

Lumut…. Nandake?

so it has been about 4 month and 2 weeks ive worked here in UMW lumut fabrication site. For those of you planning to work here below are the list of the fav hotspots… or u can pretty say my favourite spots to go after working hours. Please note the list is not necessarily 1 for my fav, as i list this just base on which came across my mind first.

1 - Biriyani - ordinary mamak type, a place to eat nasi beriyani or even normal roti tampal while surfing using the free internet connection via my e61 or my benq laptop

2 - mcd manjung - with the recent lunch savers (rm5.99) for medium size mc value meal, its a place to grab something not so good for health while using their free wi-fi service.

3 - kfc sitiawan - its been there since like forever? cause back in the early 90’s i remember this particular franchise there at the very same spot even though sitiawan is not yet develop at that very moment.

4 - mr cendol @ giant - though the cendol store might be everywhere in Perak, but the best IMO is the giant hypermarket’s. The price is a lil above average but with that amount of servings… i couldnt ask for more

5 - cendol @ the store - total opposite of the numero quatro…. the serving is less but the price is unbeatable. I would say the authenticity of the cendol is genuinely great.

6 - char kuey tiow @ hospital manjung - if anyone plans to grab a bite here, please make sure u reach there by or before 8… reason? it will be so damn crowded past that time (exception if on the very day it is raining madly). whats so special with the menu is the huge prawn in large quantity served with the char kuey tiow itself… and i mean real prawn not porn =p

7 - restoran silaturrahim - situated near the navy base, at teluk batik, its the best place to go for a scrumptious lunch. The reason is customer will be spoilt with a various choice of food, clean area and the most important, relatively cheap price.

8 - DJ - mamak outlet just to hangout after office hour. no free wifi public service but a great place to just relaxingly sip iced tea in the evening

9 - strawberry - the best place so far for western genre of food. trust me u’ll be spoilt for the greatness of the hawaiian mozarella chicken…. pretty bad the serving size is not up to my par

10 - restoran bawah pokok - named by its location under the tree, it was once call restoran abang for having only-male-gender-type of worker there. specialty : pau… soft bun with some ingredient in the middle….

Its decided that the earth hour for Malaysia is now, 28th March 09 830pm to 930pm GMT +8
A junior of mine questioned on the effort of switching off light when everything else still runs normally, that’s internet, television etc… is pointless and even worse hypocrite.
My stand is, it is at least better for them to even switch off only the lights rather than doing nothing at all. But I pose one question, an electric generator have a somewhat constant output and where would the excess generated electric output goes if all of the people in the world switches off their light? No im not an electrical engineering background student while ago….

My journey back to JB starts yesterday at 9pm, after a brief dinner i had… a special chicken burger from a stall nearby my house, Nik drove me to the Manjung Bus Station. Have to consume that particular menu as Ive had nothing since morning after a delightful serving of fried mee. Board on bus at 915pm and off I go to my beloved JB.

After countless waking-up along the journey, I arrived JB at 645am and about a few hours later i arrived at Kota Tinggi and below are some pictures i took at that reception. Sans the post editing

Blastful week?

The previous week is a full-coloured one at least for me. 2 major things at work are on its end phase, with the office cabin arrived safely at Ramunia on Saturday and these UMW Standard Drilling product to be sent out by today.
it all started on sunday, when she arrived here at manjung, we immidiately embark on the dinner hunt which brought Strawberry’s Hawaiian Chicken with Mozarella Cheese on the menu and later went off to the Giant Hypermarket for a cendol treat. Haha cendol in the midst of rain FTW!. It is then resumed the next day, decided to go to the nearest Secret Recipe outlet when I noticed that I didnt bring my wallet so I went back home and change of plan leads us to the scrumptious char kuey tiow instead. Tuesday comes and its the very day of my first time car accident experience after transferring here. My kelisa crashed into a myvi and the casuality is no more than a reverse sensor. Which the myvi owner, May decided not to charge me with anything. Drove my way to Sri Iskandar later that night since ive been longing for an iced white coffee like forever?. Thursday went on normally while on Friday I decided to go to Ipoh for a movie…. ancaman antarabangsa to be precise, when before the movie we had dinner at Mee Rebus Ramli. I dont know why should one order chicken chop at mee rebus stall? lulz
The next day we went again to Strawberry as a finale with the same menu, the mozarella-ed chicken. Owh but I took another menu since I havent consume my staple food == rice at that time.
Yesterday, I chilled out with escapad at mamaks, exchanging story (one-sided actually considering he was giving me the updates on whatever happened at UTP) and today’s Monday and ive got that Monday blues…. im a lazy bummer.

p/s : yes i do wrote this blog with hope that there will be people reading it and the best question for the week was “sejak biler nama ko ader dua f?” hahaha since forever kot…. and runner-up question would be “have i made a bet with someone to see him/her falls?” and OMG its mean…. lulz
my kelisa needs a shower…. too lazy to do it myself… i should go to car wash later this week
